Update: It works! It's great...I'm in love. I didn't measure, but here is my best quantity estimate:
- Equal parts coconut oil & shea butter
- 2 part corn starch to 1 part baking soda
- Tea tree oil ( 5-15 drops, depending on the size of the batch, but too much will irritate the skin)
Melt the oils in a microwave-safe bowl (should take ~ 30 seconds, you don't want it hot). Mix in the cornstarch and baking powder until you have a "icing-like" consistency. It should be smooth and weirdly tempting to lick off your fingers, which is not advisable.
Mix in the tea tree oil last and then pour the mixture into whatever container you want. Maybe try an empty used deodorant tube or jar? I did (reduce, reuse, recycle).
Harden in the fridge or freezer for a bit if you want, but it works just fine as a cream. Sadye and I nicknamed it "pit frosting."
This took all of 6 minutes to make (anticlimactic, really), so its kind of irritating that it took me this long to try it out.
